Mike Poggioli came to see photography as a serious creative outlet when he moved to Chicago in 2015 and became enamored by the beauty of the city’s architecture. He was particularly drawn to the L trains, experiencing every ride through The Loop, Chicago’s downtown center, as a complimentary architecture tour.

She worked at the National Gallery of Art and the Library of Congress and as a photojournalist for a newspaper in Virginia before moving to Chicago in 1996, where she founded the Filter Photo Festival.
