Recommendation: A Small Voice: Conversations With Photographers
When I first began podcasting, there were only a handful of shows dedicated to photography. Now, there are so many that it's hard to find one that stands out above the rest.
Granted that my perspective is more skewed than the average listener. I not only produce my own podcast, but my professional career has revolved around reviewing and writing articles about equipment and gear as well as writing profiles about photographers. So, when I look for content, I'm looking for something that I can appreciate both as a photographer and podcast producer and provides me with something that I have not had before.

When did you begin listening to The Candid Frame?
Around two months ago, working my way through the back episodes though!
How long have you been shooting and what inspired your interest in photography? I’ve had two stints with photography. Around 20 years ago I did a photography course at the local college, producing my own black & white prints, even made my own developer (Pyro!). Fast forward a few years & photography fell by the wayside & I stopped shooting so much. After using a D90 casually to capture family photos, I’ve had my passion for the subject reignited. So I’m still very much the amateur with loads to learn. Despite the large gap in practice, I never really stopped seeing photographically and it’s this that inspires me. For me photography isn’t just about making the images, it’s far more about how to see. I’m a software architect by trade, but despite shiny gadget-lust it’s the artistic aspect of photography that attracts me.
Do you have a preferred genre or specialty of photography? I’ll cheat & say Travel, which can encompasses street, people, landscape, architecture

When did you begin listening to The Candid Frame?
That’s a tricky question, I checked my blog and I recommended The Candid Frame in May 2009 to my readers, so probably some time before Episode 70. There have been so many inspirational episodes, I would argue that Ibarianex’s work has been vitally important in my development as a photographer. The Candid Frame, and the people on it, give you avenues to explore, artists to investigate and a good kick in the pants to just get on with it and take some photographs.
